On this page, we explain what we mean by that and why we say it so clearly. <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>A safe space. For everyone. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You&#8217;ll find a self-determined workplace here where you don&#8217;t have to fear rejection. No matter who you love, what you believe, where you come from, or how you move through life.  <strong>Here you are safe, just as you are.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Why do we say this so clearly? Because a stance is worth little as long as it remains unspoken. Anyone who is supposed to feel welcome somewhere needs to be able to know that, ideally even before they walk through the door. That&#8217;s why we write it here, clearly and publicly, instead of simply assuming it.   <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Who this text is actually for<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Many people immediately understand why we say this so openly, because they know exclusion firsthand. For them, this statement should simply be what it is: a relief. They probably don&#8217;t need the rest of this text, because they experience the issue in their own lives every day.  <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This text is aimed more at everyone else. At those who may never have thought about why such a statement is even necessary. Because that&#8217;s exactly what is often underestimated.  <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">What the numbers say<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Working life is one of the places where people most frequently experience discrimination. The <a href=\"https:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/publication\/2024\/lgbtiq-equality-crossroads-progress-and-challenges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA)<\/a> published its largest survey to date on this in 2024, with over 100,000 respondents. Nearly one in five queer people experiences discrimination in the workplace; among trans and intersex people, it&#8217;s around one in three. Of all areas of life, work is the one where discrimination happens most often.   <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The result: many people hide. According to a study by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diw.de\/de\/diw_01.c.798165.de\/publikationen\/wochenberichte\/2020_36_1\/lgbtqi_-menschen_am_arbeitsmarkt__hoch_gebildet_und_oftmals_diskriminiert.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) and the University of Bielefeld<\/a>, almost a third of queer employees are not out at work. A safe environment is not a nice extra: in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC11195964\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">German study with 4,507 participants<\/a>, an open, respectful work climate mattered almost as much as salary when choosing a workplace.  <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">And research agrees on what helps: experts explicitly recommend that places and employers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queer.de\/detail.php?article_id=36958\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take a clear and visible stance<\/a>, for example on their website. Such a signal says: Here you will meet with understanding, even if you&#8217;ve had bad experiences elsewhere. That&#8217;s exactly what we&#8217;re doing with this page.  <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Not just one group<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Being a safe space doesn&#8217;t stop at one particular group for us. We care about openness toward queer people, yes. But not only that. For us, a bigger promise applies: No one has to make themselves smaller, hide, or justify themselves with us.   <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">So whether you&#8217;re queer, new in town, or simply someone looking for a quiet, friendly place to work: You belong here.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">A safe space to work, and still not alone<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">That&#8217;s one of the strengths of coworking compared to pure home office, by the way. At home you&#8217;re safe, but often also alone. <a href=\"https:\/\/coworking-eutin.de\/en\/coworking\/\">A good coworking space<\/a> combines both: the self-determination you know from home and the togetherness of a real workplace, without the power games and prejudices that traditional offices sometimes bring. <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With us, you decide for yourself how much closeness you want. Work in focused solitude or exchange ideas\u2014both work. What you don&#8217;t have to do: explain yourself or leave a part of yourself at the door.  <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">In short<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This page and our word are not a statement in passing, but an invitation.
